Attractive 1836/1336 Capped Bust Half Dollar, attributed as the Overton O-108a variety and certified by CAC Grading as AU Details—Cleaned, Reverse.

The unusual “1836/1336” designation refers to an erroneous 3 punch visible within the 8 of the date. This recognized Guide Book variety is considerably more interesting than the standard 1836 issue. O-108a is rated R.2, indicating a scarcer—though still obtainable—die marriage.

The coin retains strong About Uncirculated-level design detail with attractive charcoal-gray, blue and golden toning. CAC identified evidence of cleaning on the reverse; the obverse was not cited for cleaning. It also features the original lettered edge reading “FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR.”
